Attention! Transition to “winter” time!

On the night from Saturday to Sunday, October 26 (4th of Cheshvan), at 4:00 AM, official time in Ukraine will shift one hour back (this is the so-called transition to “winter” time).

Thus, on Sunday, you can sleep one hour longer, according to the Cabinet of Ministers’ Decree No. 509 from May 13, 1996. According to this decree, the country operates under the time of the second time zone, with the clock being shifted forward one hour on the last Sunday of March at 3:00 AM and shifted back one hour on the last Sunday of October at 4:00 AM. (As is well known, most of Ukraine lies within the time zone corresponding to UTC+2, i.e., the “second time zone.”)

Be especially careful when determining the times for lighting candles on Saturdays and holidays in your region, as sometimes Jewish calendars account for the time change, and sometimes it’s necessary to subtract one hour from the summer time. In the Jewish community calendars of Dnipro, the transition to “winter” time is already accounted for.

According to official reports, the transition to “winter” time is also reflected in train, air, and other travel tickets, but we advise remaining cautious and vigilant in this regard.
