Attention! Transition to “winter” time!

On the night from Saturday to Sunday, October 24 (13 Cheshvan), at 4:00 AM, the official time in Ukraine shifts back by one hour (the so-called transition to “winter” time).

Particular care and caution should be exercised when determining the candle-lighting time for Shabbat and holidays in your region, as sometimes Jewish calendars account for the transition to winter time, and sometimes one must subtract an hour from summer time. In the calendars of the Dnipro Jewish Community, the transition to “winter” time is accounted for.

According to official institutions, the transition to “winter” time is also accounted for in railway, airline, and other tickets; however, we advise exercising caution and vigilance in this matter as well.
