The Avot uBanim Torah learning program (Fathers and Sons) continues its weekly meetings dedicated to the joint study of the Torah and other key Jewish religious texts, and invites Jewish families to take part in these sessions.
Currently, Avot uBanim classes are held in two locations every Monday: between the Mincha and Maariv prayers at the central synagogue “Golden Rose,” and after the evening prayer at the boys’ dormitory “Beit LeBanim” on Yevropeiska Street. According to Jewish tradition, it is considered highly valuable for a father to regularly study Torah with his son – this strengthens the bond between generations and helps transmit Jewish and family values into the future.
“It is very important for fathers and sons to learn Torah together – and not occasionally, but on a regular basis, at least once a week at a dedicated time,” explains the program’s organizer, Rabbi David Vaskovsky. “Even if a father attends Torah classes for adults, and his children study sacred texts at school or in yeshiva, this cannot replace family-based learning. It is essential that this time be consistent and recurring, becoming a meaningful ritual that helps create a healthy family atmosphere.”
The program operates thanks to the support of the Jewish Community of Dnipro.
