Camp “Meholelot Meapicha”: A New Theme Every Day Brings Us Closer to Redemption

At the world’s largest Jewish center – the Menorah Center in Dnipro – the summer day camp for girls in grades 1–9, “Meholelot Meapicha,” organized by the Jewish Community of Dnipro, is in full swing.

We’ve already shared details about the camp’s launch, its name, and its core concept here. Today, we want to tell you more about how each day is structured at “Meholelot Meapicha.”

Every morning, the girls receive a themed booklet that focuses on a specific mitzvah or value — one that brings the revelation of the righteous Moshiach and the time of Geulah (Redemption) closer. The content is presented through the creative lens of the camp’s overarching concept: a cosmic journey through space. For example, one day focused on honoring the “pilots” of the family spaceship — a metaphor for the mitzvah of respecting parents and the inseparable bond between children and their parents.

The study of each daily theme begins with special morning activities: a meeting with madrichot (counselors), morning exercises, singing camp songs, and fun games. The girls then split into groups, where, after prayer, they participate in workshops, creative activities, quizzes, and other engaging projects connected to the day’s topic.

Exciting excursions and outings are also organized: the younger girls recently enjoyed laser tag, the older ones went go-karting, and the oldest group (grades 7–9) has a special evening program each day. On one of these evenings, the girls visited Dnipro’s Rebbetzin, Chana Kaminezki, where they learned how to bake Belgian waffles. They watched a movie together and discussed it deeply, reflecting on the power of each individual action in the journey toward a shared goal — the coming of Moshiach and complete Redemption.

“The Jewish Community of Dnipro gave our girls a magical world filled with joy and deep spiritual meaning,” said camp co-director Edna Yudovich. “Together with Malki Feldman and our amazing madrichot — Aidy Bloy, Dvora Sima Romanovska, Musia and Inda Elishevitz, who came specially to work in the camp — we are guiding the girls on an exciting and enchanting cosmic journey toward our greatest goal: Geulah.”
