The first session of the traditional summer retreat “Gan Levi Yitzchak” has come to a close. This retreat is organized by the Jewish Community of Dnipro for the families of the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s emissaries serving in Dnipro, as well as for other observant families. It took place at the luxurious and comfortable Kohavi Forest Club, located in a picturesque and ecologically clean area on the banks of the Samara River.
During the final evening event, Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region, Shmuel Kaminezki, and the retreat’s director, Leah Brez, addressed the audience. On behalf of all participants, heartfelt words of gratitude to the Jewish Community of Dnipro for an inspiring vacation filled with the spirit of Yiddishkeit were expressed by Rivka (Iryna Ivanivna) Lazareva. The evening continued with a joyful celebration featuring dancing, a cocktail bar, treats, and a video show titled Discovery Kohavi, dedicated to memories of the unforgettable nine days spent at “Gan Levi Yitzchak.”
A highlight of the children’s program, which had been running throughout the session, was the exciting “Shop” activity, where children could select various gifts using points they had earned during activities, contests, quizzes, and educational games.
In the final days of the first session, two farbrengens took place: a women’s farbrengen in honor of the 12th of Tammuz and a men’s farbrengen, held after the official closing ceremony, dedicated to the 13th of Tammuz.
A special surprise for everyone was the visit to the retreat by a senior representative of the Vaad HaKashrus of Belz USA, the esteemed Rabbi Usher Anshel Eckstein, who is currently visiting the Jewish Community of Dnipro.
“The first session of our retreat was a great success, but we are not resting even for a day. We’ve already launched the second session, which will also last for nine days,” said retreat director Leah Brez. “Our amazing team has done a truly outstanding job, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this retreat a reality.”
