Completion and Hachnasas Sefer Torah to the JFK Community in Honor of the Creation of a New Jewish Family

A solemn ceremony of the Completion and Hachnasas (bringing in) of a Sefer Torah took place at the JFK (Jewish Future of Kiev) community in Kyiv, in honor of the future creation of a new Jewish family by the children of respected members of the Dnipro Jewish Community. The event was held with great blessings and sincere wishes that this union be filled with light, blessing, and success, and that the groom, Shimon Belyayev, son of Yosef David Belyayev and Rimma Belyayeva, and the bride, Zlata-Daniella Maislas, daughter of Yisroel Chaim and Marianna Maislas, may stand under the Chuppah at a good hour and build a strong Jewish family on the solid foundation of Torah and mitzvos in the light of Chassidic teaching.

The Sefer Torah for the Kyiv community was a gift from the bride’s parents, respected members of the Dnipro Jewish Community, Yisroel Chaim and Marianna Maislas. Honored guests from many cities of Ukraine arrived for the Hachnasas Sefer Torah ceremony, including the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region, Shmuel Kaminezki, and the Chief Rabbi of Kamianske, Levi Stambler. This was especially symbolic, as the JFK community is led by their children – the head of the community is Menachem Mendel Kaminezki, and its rabbi is Menachem Mendel Stambler – who organized the event in an exceptionally uplifting and warm atmosphere.

In a solemn setting, sofer Reb Levi Susorov completed the Sefer Torah. The honorable right to write the final letters was granted to participants of JFK programs and honored guests, among whom were Reuven and Menachem Mendel Ruvinsky, Shlomo Goldman, and Reuven Korenblit. The final letters were written by Rabbi Levi Stambler and Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.

After the final letters were written, a seudas mitzvah (commanded meal) took place with numerous l’chaims and traditional hakafos, held in an atmosphere of great Chassidic joy, in honor of the Hachnasas Sefer Torah, which will become an important part of the development and expansion of the activities of the Kyiv JFK community.

“This Sefer Torah will become an important part of the spiritual life of the JFK community – prayers, Torah readings, Misheberachs, naming ceremonies, bar mitzvahs, and other important events of Jewish life will take place with it. It will help even more young people connect to Jewish tradition and the light of Torah,” emphasized Menachem Mendel Kaminezki, head of the JFK community. “Our Jewish community is developing dynamically, and we are very grateful for the support of its activities to our esteemed parents – Chief Rabbi of Dnipro Shmuel Kaminezki and Chief Rabbi of Kamianske Levi Stambler – as well as to the members of the united and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community, who support Jewish revival projects in many cities of Ukraine, including its capital, and, of course, we are sincerely grateful to the congregants of our wonderful JFK community.”
