Didan Notzach at the Machon “Chaya-Mushka”

The Machon “Chaya-Mushka,” the leading educational institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community for girls, celebrated the holiday of Didan Notzach – the Day of Holy Jewish Books – in a bright, large-scale, and very meaningful way. This day was established to commemorate an important event in 1987 when an American court affirmed the full right of ownership of the library of the Sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe to the organization “Agudas Chasidei Chabad,” meaning, to all Chabad Chassidim worldwide.

The celebration at the Machon took the format of a major event and was organized with the age of the students in mind. For the younger grades, a bright book fair with book sales was prepared, a farbrengen was held, and fun and educational games related to the theme of holy Jewish books and the meaning of the Didan Notzach holiday took place.

For the older grades, a separate farbrengen was organized with Rabbi Moshe Leib Weber, who was introduced as a witness to this spiritual victory that took place in America in 1987. Rabbi Weber shared extremely interesting facts related to the history of Didan Notzach with the girls, shared personal recollections, and helped them understand more deeply the significance of this day and its special place in Chassidic tradition.

“The Didan Notzach holiday at our Machon passed very well, meaningfully, and joyfully. The preparation and conduct of the holiday were handled by Sheina Smilyanska and Miriam Tereshkevich, thanks to whom this day was held at a high level and left bright and warm impressions on the students. The girls participated in all the activities with great interest and received genuine pleasure from this day,” said the director of the Machon “Chaya-Mushka,” Rachel Milman. “Such events are very important for forming a true Jewish identity in the girls, understanding their role in the world, and realizing the importance not only of living according to the commandments of the Torah but also of bringing others closer to this, by spreading the light of Lubavitch Chassidus. For the opportunity to raise our girls in this way, to celebrate all holidays and significant dates with them, we sincerely thank the united and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Kehillah and its Rav, Shmuel Kaminezki.”
