In honor of the birthday of the Alter Rebbe and Rabbi Israel Baal Shem Tov, which is celebrated on the 18th of Elul, special events were held for each group at the Children’s Educational Center “Beit Tzindlicht,” the main preschool institution of the Jewish Community of Dnipro.
The children heard many fascinating stories about the great tzaddikim, about their contributions and the fundamental changes that occurred through their influence. Musical activities were also dedicated to the 18th of Elul – children danced, sang the famous nigun “Net, net, nikogo…” (There is no one, no one…), and looked at the book “Tanya.” Special attention was given to the importance of the commandment of Ahavat Yisrael (Love of Israel) and spreading light – introduction to these values took place in a playful form, appropriate to the children’s age characteristics.
“As always, we tried to engage the most diverse aspects in education, naturally taking into account modern achievements in developmental pedagogy,” says kindergarten teacher Malka Averbukh. “This was not only an informational component, but also active engagement of emotional intelligence, creative abilities, and visualization of concepts. At the conclusion, a special farbrengen was organized for the children. The celebration turned out bright and unforgettable, and this, like all our work, became possible thanks to the attention and support of the Jewish Community of Dnipro and its Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
