Throughout the entire month of Elul, every weekday, a solemn shofar-blowing ceremony takes place at the “Hesed Menachem” charity foundation, which operates with the support of the Joint.
The ceremony is held in the “Freilachs” club for the staff and visitors of Hesed, participants of the “Day Center” programs, as well as those taking part in the online projects “Caring Connection” and “Let’s Connect.” This allows the message about the approaching Rosh Ha-Shanah to be spread as widely as possible among the elderly members of the Jewish Community of Dnipro and the cities of the region.
“For us, it is very important that every day the wonderful Rabbi Shmuel Livshits comes to us, tells us about the month of Elul, the importance of preparing for Rosh Ha-Shanah, and so inspiringly blows the shofar, the sound of which makes every heart tremble,” says Victoria Opalenko, the head of the “Freilachs” club. “We sincerely thank the Jewish Community of Dnipro and its Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki for their support and help in organizing such integrative programs, which are extremely important for our clients.”
