Fourth-grade graduation at the Chaya Mushka machon: the importance of books, the Rebbe’s wisdom, and a look to the future

The Chaya Mushka machon, the leading educational institution for girls in Dnipro, held a graduation ceremony for fourth-grade students, marking the end of elementary school and the transition to a new stage of education. The celebration was filled with warm memories, words of gratitude, joy at the successes achieved, and reflections on the next step in the school life of the young machon students.

The main theme of the celebration was the Jewish book as a source of wisdom, inspiration, and spiritual connection between generations. The scenario was based on the image of a Jewish library, each book of which preserves the priceless heritage of the Torah and Jewish tradition. The central symbol of the program was the famous “Igrot Kodesh” – a collection of letters from the Head of our generation, the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson. According to the celebration’s theme, the girls discovered a mysterious volume radiating light among the books and came to the realization that the Rebbe’s letters continue to illuminate the path of the Jewish people, helping them find answers to questions and receive blessings and support at various moments in their lives. This is why the Rebbe’s video message and a beautiful dance with books took a special place in the program.

Rebbetzin Chana Kaminezky was the guest of honor at the celebration, and a special greeting was addressed to her. The graduating students then reminisced about their years in elementary school. They spoke of their first steps in learning, friendship, mutual support, respect for parents and teachers, and how they grew and acquired new knowledge together. A touching addition to these memories was a video featuring photographs capturing the girls’ journey from first to fourth grade.

Fun scenes from school life, in which the students humorously recalled the most memorable and amusing moments of their school years, added a special atmosphere to the celebration. Equally engaging was the mothers’ competition, which invited them to recognize their daughters’ handwriting. This moment brought countless smiles and once again emphasized the close bond that exists between family and mahon.

A separate section of the program was dedicated to expressing gratitude to the teachers. The girls expressed their love and respect for their mentors, thanking them for their wisdom, patience, support, and faith in their students. As a token of their appreciation, the graduates prepared souvenirs for the teachers, and a song dedicated to the teachers served as a musical gift. Then, Rachel Milman, director of the Chaya-Mushka mahon, addressed the audience.

An equally touching part of the celebration was the gratitude to the parents. The graduates expressed their love for their mothers, thanking them for their care, support, kindness, and endless patience. Poems, a song, a video with photographs, and memorable gifts were prepared for the parents. A special highlight was a joint creative surprise, in which mothers and daughters had the opportunity to collaborate on creating commemorative paintings.

Speaking about the future, the girls admitted that entering fifth grade brings them not only joy but also excitement. New subjects, new teachers, and new demands seem like an unknown and somewhat daunting world. This is why the celebration’s heroines once again turned to Igrot Kodesh, seeking support and inspiration for this new stage of their lives. A special gift for the graduates were video messages from fifth-grade students, who shared their experiences and gave their younger friends good advice on how to feel confident in middle school.

The celebration concluded with a dance performance, video messages from teachers, and a ceremonial presentation of gifts to the graduates. However, the main outcome of the day was not only the completion of an important stage of their education but also the realization that new opportunities await the girls, and that they will always have the Torah, the Rebbe’s teachings, the support of their families, teachers, and the united and close-knit Jewish Community of Dnipro, led by Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezky.
