During Hanukkah, the Hesed Menachem Charitable Foundation hosts many events, both offline and online, the central one of which is the model lighting of a large Hanukkah in the Freylachs club, which is broadcast for participants of Hesed programs not only in Dnipro, but also in Kamiansky, Pavlohrad, Kremenchuk, and other settlements where this charitable organization operates.
On the fifth day of Hanukkah, the candles in “Hesed Menachem” were lit by the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region, Shmuel Kaminezky, who warmly congratulated the elderly on the bright holiday of Hanukkah and spoke about how important it is to participate in lighting the Hanukkah every evening of every day of the holiday, and even better – to light it in every Jewish home. Before lighting the candles, Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezky read the blessings in Hebrew, and their Ukrainian translation was read by the acting director of “Hesed Menachem” Viktoriya Novoselova.
“By lighting Hanukkah candles every day, we add light to the world and to our hearts,” says Viktoria Opalenko, head of the Freylachs club. “Such events unite people, create a space of support and trust, where everyone feels part of a large community and is filled with light and hope.”
