Dnipro is one of the largest and most important cities in Ukraine. On the second Saturday of September, it traditionally celebrates its birthday. This day unites everyone who loves and values this unique city and reminds us of its glorious history and cultural achievements.
Our city is renowned for its powerful industrial potential, the majestic Dnipro River, and its rich historical heritage. The city is an important cultural, scientific, and economic center of the country, where outstanding personalities have lived and worked for centuries, making significant contributions to Ukraine’s development. But facts and dates cannot convey all the warmth and beauty of Dnipro. Dnipro is more than just a place on the map. It’s not just a city, it’s our home, a place where destinies intersect, ideas are born, and the future is built. With its cozy streets, spacious embankment, and green parks, Dnipro is a city where the soul and history of each of its residents lives.
The Jewish community plays an important role in the city’s development and life. For centuries, Jewish families have lived and worked in Dnipro, becoming an integral part of its history. It is precisely the Jewish community that has always been and remains an important element of the city’s spiritual and cultural life. Synagogues were built here, schools were opened, and charity developed. Today, the community continues to live and create actively: Dnipro is home to the world’s largest Jewish center – “Menorah,” with educational programs, cultural projects, and social initiatives that support the city’s residents and bring it fame far beyond Ukraine’s borders.
The Jewish Community of Dnipro and our website congratulate all residents on City Day! We wish Dnipro peace, prosperity, and positive changes. May our beloved city grow and develop, and may its residents always feel warmth, support, and pride in living right here – in Dnipro, a city of friendship, unity, and hope!
