In honor of the 9th and 10th of Kislev, the students of “Bayt LeBanim” visited the Ohel of the Mitteler Rebbe

In honor of the important Chabad dates related to the Second Head of the Lubavitch movement, Rabbi Dov Ber Schneersohn, also known as the Mitteler Rebbe, a trip to his Ohel in the city of Nizhyn was organized for the students of the “Bayt LeBanim” boys’ boarding school of the Dnipro Jewish Community.

Under the guidance of Rabbi David Vaskovsky and accompanied by representatives of the Dnipro Jewish Community, the boys visited the resting place of the great Tzadik (righteous person). They wrote Panim (petitionary notes), lit a Ner Neshamah (memorial candle), prayed at the Ohel, and then participated in a Chassidic Farbrengen gathering dedicated to the 9th of Kislev—the birthday and Yahrzeit (anniversary of passing) of the Mitteler Rebbe—and the 10th of Kislev, the day of his liberation from Russian imprisonment.

“We toured the Jewish cemetery where the Ohel of the Mitteler Rebbe is located, and spoke a lot about his son and about Jewish life in Nizhyn at that time. It was a very significant experience for each child,” shared Rabbi David Vaskovsky. “We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to make this trip precisely on the day of the 10th of Kislev. This was made possible thanks to the assistance of the esteemed Mr. Emanuel Sidorenko and our beloved Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
