In the boys’ boarding house “Bait leBanim,” a practical class on koshering took place on the eve of Passover, specifically about koshering through various methods of burning.
The head of the boarding house, Rabbi David Vaskovsky, explained the fundamental differences between “libun kal” and “libun gamur,” detailing in which case each type of burning is performed to achieve the status of “kosher for Passover” and to ensure that the destruction of chametz was carried out properly.
The boys observed how the burning process is carried out, how it should be monitored and conducted while considering all safety regulations and Jewish tradition guidelines, and they personally helped kosher the kitchen utensils in the “Bait leBanim” boarding house.
The event was organized with the support of the Jewish community of Dnipro.
