The JBBBS (Jewish Big Brothers\Big Sisters) project of the Dnipro Jewish Community continues to create a space of support, growth, and friendship for children. The latest gathering of the program’s extended family took the form of an active recreation day—this time, participants assembled at the welcoming “Panorama” club for a group bowling outing.
The children quickly formed teams and enthusiastically dove into the game. Every successful roll was met with loud applause, genuine cheers, and encouragement from friends. The atmosphere was truly warm and dynamic—filled with joy, excitement, and a palpable sense of unity.
Volunteers and older program participants helped the younger children and those who were still unsure how to handle the ball. For some, this meetup was a true revelation: children who were initially shy ended up bowling strikes and confidently knocking down nearly all the pins in a single turn.
“Events like these are about more than just the game. They’re about healthy activity, support, belief in oneself, and shared emotions that stay with the children for a long time. It’s important to us that each gathering gives the children not merely entertainment, but a feeling of teamwork, support, and personal achievement. When they rejoice in each other’s victories—that’s how a real community is formed,” notes project director Tatyana Kaplunskaya. “And all of this is made possible thanks to the support of the Dnipro and Boston Jewish communities, and thanks to the encouragement and backing of the city’s Chief Rabbi, Shmuel Kaminezki!”
The JBBBS project is open to new participants. Many more exciting events and celebrations lie ahead, and the organizers invite everyone to join together with the program’s warm, extended family. For all details, please call: 068-480-30-52 (Natalia).
