For the younger residents of the “Bayt Le-Banim” boys’ boarding school of the Jewish community of Dnipro, an engaging and exciting training session was held, aimed at teaching teamwork during stressful and even crisis situations.
The boys, accompanied by the head of the boarding school, Rabbi David Vayskovsky, visited one of the city’s quest centers to learn, in a game format, how to act calmly and support one another in extreme conditions with very limited time to rescue themselves and their teammates.
“As part of the game, we found ourselves on a hijacked airplane,” shared Rabbi David Vayskovsky. “We had to move from the cargo hold to the passenger cabin, overcome many obstacles, break into the cockpit, and ultimately save the plane ourselves by making an emergency landing. What was crucial is that we were only able to accomplish this through joint effort — this taught us that we cannot survive alone, only in unity and through teamwork. Afterwards, we discussed the experience and concluded that this principle applies not just to small groups, but to our entire people as one united whole.”
The event was held with the support of the Jewish Community of Dnipro.
