Jewish Lyceum Awaits Announcement of Winners for “Inspired by the Word” Competition

On the eve of the winter holidays, the annual creative competition “Inspired by the Word” was held at the Levi Yitzchak Schneerson Jewish Lyceum No. 144, the leading educational institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community. Students from grades 1 to 11 participated, showcasing brilliant examples of artistic reading and recitation.

The students’ performances spanned two days. Afterward, the jury, which faced an extremely difficult and responsible task of determining the winners, took a pause. It was announced that the competition results would be made public after the winter holidays in a ceremonial and festive atmosphere, with each laureate to receive honorary certificates and symbolic gifts as a memento of this creative achievement.

“This year, the children’s performances impressed the esteemed jury, and choosing the best among the best was very challenging,” says the Deputy Director of the lyceum, Svitlana Romenska. “Without exaggeration, the poetry sounded like the first rays of the winter sun breaking through the clouds, like a pure spring nourishing a thirsty soul. Every poem, every monologue touched the most secret strings of the audience’s hearts. The voices of the youngest rang like crystal bells, while the performances of the high school students impressed with their depth, like the boundless night sky filled with contemplation of the eternal. We thank each and every one for the courage to open their soul, and we undoubtedly express our boundless gratitude for the opportunity to hold such competitions in our challenging times and to help children reveal their creative potential – thanks to the united and close-knit Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
