Jewish Lyceum Holds “Uniqueness” Month-Long Program Throughout Cheshvan

The Levi Yitzchak Schneerson Jewish Lyceum No. 144, the leading educational institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community, has prepared a special thematic program for each Jewish month this year, each dedicated to an important moral and ethical aspect of our lives.

Throughout the month of Cheshvan, the “Uniqueness” program is taking place. It began on Rosh Chodesh with a vibrant and memorable flash mob dedicated to the uniqueness of each lyceum student’s name. The flash mob, titled “My Name Is My Treasure,” became an important component in shaping a unique identity, inextricably linked to national, cultural, and spiritual traditions.

“A person’s name is the first sign of our uniqueness; it has its own history and meaning,” explained the lyceum’s deputy director, Tetiana Sirotkina. “It was important for each child to learn about the origin of their name, its meaning, and also to reflect on whom they were named after, why their parents chose that particular name and not another. Throughout the month of Cheshvan, we aim to explore the theme of uniqueness in various forms, a theme that is becoming increasingly important in the modern world.”
