Legal Responsibility and Safety Lesson at the Jewish Lyceum

An important meeting was held at the Levi Yitzchak Schneerson Jewish Lyceum No. 144, the leading educational institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community, where students engaged with a law enforcement representative on issues of adolescent legal responsibility and personal safety in today’s environment.

The guest speaker was Senior Inspector of the Patrol Police Department, Captain Olga Riznyk. During a substantive and candid conversation with the students, she focused extensively on the topic of “Adolescent Responsibility for Violations of the Law,” explaining the consequences of illegal actions and why knowledge of legal norms is not a mere formality but a genuine tool for self-protection.

Special attention was given to the problem of bullying and its various forms. Together with the guest, students discussed why it is important not to remain silent about instances of harassment, how to promptly halt negative dynamics within a group, and what legal liability exists for such actions. The conversation allowed the teenagers to view familiar school situations through the lens of law and personal responsibility.

A significant portion of the meeting was devoted to cybersecurity issues and the risks adolescents face in the digital space. The dangers of manipulation on social media and attempts to recruit minors were discussed separately. The police officer provided practical recommendations on how to recognize suspicious contacts, avoid provocations, and protect oneself, one’s loved ones, and one’s country.

Such meetings are an important part of the lyceum’s systematic educational work, aimed at fostering an informed civic position, respect for the law, and a sense of inner responsibility in each student. Knowledge of one’s rights and responsibilities forms a solid foundation for a safe future.

The Dnipro Jewish Community sincerely thanks the police representatives for their professionalism and cooperation, and the lyceum’s teaching staff for organizing the meeting and their ongoing care for the safety and well-being of their students.
