The Jewish Community of Dnipro and our website are pleased to congratulate two members of our community, congregants of the Golden Rose Synagogue, who have entered into the Covenant of Abraham!
One of them took the Hebrew name Eliyahu, the other Moishe, taking an important and conscious step toward spiritual growth and connection to the Jewish people.
The brit milah ceremony took place at the JMC Jewish Medical Center. The honorary role of the sandak was performed by Rabbi Reuven Kaminetsky and Rabbi Levi Artyushkin, and the ceremony itself was conducted by Rabbi Yakov Gaisinovich, Chief Mohel of Ukraine and Moldova and representative of the international organization Brit Yosef Yitzchak.
Brit Milah is the first commandment given by G-d to his forefather Abraham, and is central to Judaism. The Torah states, “9. And G-d said to Abraham: But you shall keep My covenant, you and your offspring after you in their generations. 10. This is My covenant which you shall keep between Me and you and your offspring after you: that every male of you shall be circumcised. 11. And circumcise your foreskin, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and you” (Bereshit 17:9,10,11).
May this special day be the beginning of a blessed journey full of Torah, commandments and good deeds! The Jewish Community of Dnipro and our website wish Eliyahu and Moishe good health, happiness and fulfillment of all good wishes. May they be honored to come to Torah, Hupa and good deeds!
Mazel Tov!
