The Bar Mitzvah of Binyamin Yitzchak Cherkassky, the son of community activist Asher-Yosef Cherkassky and Shterna-Sara Gezenzweig, was a bright and significant event for the Jewish Community of Dnipro, as well as for the numerous guests who attended the celebration. The festive event took place in the luxurious Menorah Ballroom of the largest Jewish center, “Menorah.”
Before the official program began, guests warmly congratulated the Bar Mitzvah boy and his parents, took photos with them, and shared kind words and wishes. The formal part opened with a video address by the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson. Then, Rabbi Moshe Leib Weber recited Tehillim for peace and well-being in Ukraine and Israel.
A special moment of the celebration was the reading of a letter of blessing from the Lubavitcher Rebbe. The original letter was read by a special guest of the event, the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine, Moshe Reuven Asman, and the translation was provided by the Director of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, Reb Zelik Brez.
Guests were also shown a special film dedicated to Binyamin Yitzchak. Following this, the hall united in singing a Chassidic nigun. The guest of honor himself recited the Maamar “Isa BeMidrash Tehillim,” which is dedicated to the importance of the mitzvah of laying Tefillin and the spiritual significance of fulfilling commandments in the life of a Jew and in the world. Binyamin Yitzchak’s words were met with loud applause, after which joyful and lively Chassidic dancing began.
The Jewish Community of Dnipro and our website join in the congratulations and wish Binyamin Yitzchak Cherkassky to always be a source of joy for his parents and family, to become a Torah scholar and a worthy Chassid, and, as is customary, to reach the Torah, the Chuppah, and Good Deeds.
Mazl Tov!
