Dnipro City Council presented the awards “Zakhisnik Vitchizna” to the Chairman of the Council of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine Rabbi Meir Tzvi Stambler and military chaplain of FEOU Yakov Sinyakov.
Rabbi Stambler and Yakov Sinyakov were awarded on behalf of Mayor Boris Filatov by the Secretary of Dnipro City Council Oleksandr Sanzhara. The awarding ceremony was attended by Igor Turchin, a deputy of the city council, chairman of the city association “Union of Chornobil Ukraine”, Victoria Merkova, head of the Department of the City Council Executive Bodies Activity Support Department, as well as Alina Teplitskaya, director of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine, and Rimma Aronova, rector of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute “Beit Hana”.
“This is an important event for all Jews of Ukraine,” noted Alina Teplitskaya, Director of FEOU, “we heartily congratulate Rabbi Meir Zvi Stambler and Yakov Sinyakov on this high award, which recognized their selfless service to people and their efforts to spread and strengthen light and goodness in Ukraine and the world.
