The Menorah Community youth project of the Dnipro Jewish Community, which is actively developing thanks to the efforts of the Zislin family, held another women’s lesson dedicated to the Ki Tetze chapter and the spiritual lessons it reveals about personal responsibility, a woman’s inner strength, and the choices a person must make throughout life.
The speaker was Esther Leah Mayevskaya, who invited the participants to explore the Ki Tetze chapter through issues relevant to modern women: relationships, personal boundaries, responsibility for one’s decisions, and choosing between momentary desires and the path the Torah views as leading a person to blessing.
The lesson discussed what the Torah understands by true feminine strength and why it is associated not with external manifestations but with inner resilience, the ability to remain true to one’s values, and not become swept up in circumstances or the influence of others.
Particular attention was paid to the fact that many commandments, which at first glance may seem distant from modern life, reveal a profound understanding of human nature, relationships between people, and the moral choices women face every day. Participants reflected on how a Torah perspective helps them make more conscious decisions and build their lives in accordance with Jewish spiritual values.
“It was very important for the girls to see that the weekly chapter of ‘Ki Tetze’ helps them take a fresh look at issues of choice, personal responsibility, and a woman’s inner strength, demonstrating that true freedom lies not in following one’s own desires, but in the ability to consciously choose the path indicated by the Torah,” says project co-director Esti Zislina. “Such meetings help them gain a deeper understanding of how Jewish tradition reveals the meaning of everyday decisions and how, through faithfulness to the commandments, even in the most ordinary life circumstances, a person can follow the path of blessing and fulfilling the will of the Creator, strengthening our beloved, united and cohesive Jewish community of Dnipro under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
