Men’s Farbrengen in Dnipro’s Central Synagogue Marks the Yahrzeit of the Great Arizal

A special men’s farbrengen took place in the multipurpose space adjoining the main prayer hall of the Golden Rose Central Synagogue in Dnipro, in honor of the 453rd yahrzeit of Rabbi Yitzchak ben Shlomo Luria Ashkenazi – the great kabbalist and scholar known as the Arizal.

The event was made possible thanks to the support of Irina Abramenco and her esteemed husband, longtime benefactors of Jewish revival projects in Dnipro and throughout Ukraine.

The farbrengen was led by esteemed rabbis Reuven Milman and Avraham Yosef Yitzchak Karshenbaum. Rabbi Milman spoke about the enduring significance of the Arizal’s teachings, which laid the foundations for understanding the structure of creation and introduced key concepts later developed in Chassidic thought by the Baal Shem Tov, Rabbi Dov Ber of Mezeritch, and the founder of Chabad, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi. These ideas were frequently emphasized by the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson.

“This farbrengen, made possible by the Abramenco family – Irina and Menachem Mendel – was also dedicated to the souls who have departed this world during these days,” noted Rabbi Reuven Milman. “We spoke deeply about the Arizal’s influence in today’s world and the profound message of Shabbat Chazon, which precedes the fast of the 9th of Av.”
