For the holiday of Purim, the Jewish community of Dnipro held a large-scale campaign to read the Suva Megillat Esther in the homes of those Jews who find it difficult to come to the synagogue and listen to the reading during morning prayers or during additional readings organized by the community.
“Not only our yeshivot students took part in this campaign, but also adult activists of the Jewish community,” said Rabbi Reuven Kaminetsky, “the boys visited many Jewish homes, bringing there the joy of Purim – delicacies and other treats. However, the most important thing was the reading of the Suva Esther. We managed to make it so that even those Jews who cannot leave their homes had the opportunity to hear the Suva and fulfill the commandments of this great holiday.”
The reading of the Book of Esther took place in almost all Jewish institutions in Dnipro, and we are receiving many reports about how vibrant and creative Purim was in Dnipro this year. We will soon tell you about some of these events.
