At Machon Chaya Mushka, a leading educational institution of the Jewish Community of Dnipro for girls, the new school year began with a festive and joyful ceremony. The traditional celebration brought together all the students of the Machon and served not only as a warm reunion after the summer break but also as the start of a new stage of learning, spiritual growth, and Chassidic education. One of the main highlights of the day was the presentation of the Machon’s grand new campaign for the entire 5786/5787 school year, titled “Eternal Code.”
Special attention during the celebration was given to the youngest students, who are just beginning their journey at the Machon, and to the senior students, for whom this school year will be their last. The eleventh-graders prepared symbolic gifts for the younger girls, welcoming them into the large and friendly family of the Machon and emphasizing the continuity of generations of Chaya Mushka students.
The official start of the new school year was announced by Morah Daniela Listengurt, who then passed the floor to the Machon’s Director, Rachel Milman. She read a special letter from the Lubavitcher Rebbe addressed to children beginning a new school year. In his message, the Rebbe speaks about where every Jewish boy and girl should direct their efforts so that the new year will be productive, energetic, and joyful. Thus, from the very first moments of the new school year, the students received the main spiritual compass to guide them through the coming months of learning and growth.
One of the central moments of the celebration was the presentation of the new theme for the year at the Machon, introduced by Sheina Segal, titled “Eternal Code.” The idea is based on the concept that the Almighty gave the Jewish people a special unchanging code that enables a person to build their life correctly – the Torah and its mitzvos. The study of this “code,” understanding its meaning, and applying its principles in daily life will be one of the central themes of the new school year at the Machon.
Sheina Segal also familiarized the students with the rules by which the Machon will operate this year, and a specially prepared interactive game helped the girls better understand the idea of the new campaign. Already during the first celebration, “Eternal Code” received its musical embodiment: the students began learning a new jingle song and dance created for the year-long campaign. As a result, the introduction to its idea was emotional, engaging, and unforgettable, and the start of the school year took place in an atmosphere of joy, unity, and anticipation of new discoveries.
“Each new school year for us is the beginning of a great journey, and it is very important from its very first days to give the girls an understanding of the unchanging principles on which they will build this path,” said Machon Director Rachel Milman. “This is precisely what our new campaign ‘Eternal Code’ is about: the Almighty gave the Jewish people the Torah and mitzvos as eternal guidelines that help a person make the right decisions, fill their life with meaning and joy, and grow into a true Jewish girl. We want our students throughout the year not only to learn this ‘code’ but also to learn how to apply it in their daily lives.
