Review of the November Issue of the Newspaper “Shabat Shalom”

The November issue of the newspaper “Shabat Shalom” (the 394th issue overall) has again been published in a shortened, eight-page format.

The front page of the publication is entirely dedicated to the celebrations and gifts for the High Holidays in the Dnipro Jewish Community.

The second page features stories about the memorial ceremony held on the 84th anniversary of the beginning of the mass shootings of Jews in Dnipro by the Nazi occupiers, as well as the liberation of Israeli hostages.

The third page contains a “news panorama” from the “Chesed Menachem” Charitable Foundation for October.

The fourth page includes materials about the Sukkot celebration at JBBBS, the performance “Be Happy!” by the Odessa Academic Youth Theater named after Yuri Olesha, which took place at the Menorah Center, a tea ceremony at the “Or Shalom” Psychological Support Center, and news from the projects of the ECC “Solomonika”.

The fifth page is dedicated to the exhibition “A Scar Across Europe: The Consequences of the Hitler-Stalin Pact,” which opened at the Dnipro Jewish Museum.

The sixth page features the article “The Beginning and End of the Lilliputian Troupe,” dedicated to the history of the Ovitz family.

The seventh page contains historical stories by Alexander Bystryakov for the 75th anniversary of Mirra Zheleznova’s death, and Nikolai Bulany – “The Isaacs: A Family in the Service of the English Crown.”

The eighth page traditionally contains congratulations, announcements, and a joke.
