A cherished tradition at the Levi Yitzchak Schneerson Jewish Lyceum No. 144, the leading educational institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community, is the organization of thematic weeks dedicated to a wide range of topics—scientific, creative, and athletic.
The first such thematic event of the new school year was “Olympic Week,” as the development of a well-rounded personality depends not only on intellectual, spiritual, and creative abilities but also on physical education, a commitment to a healthy lifestyle, and an understanding of the importance of sports as a social phenomenon.
The opening of “Olympic Week” took place at a solemn assembly led by the legendary physical education teacher of the lyceum, Tetiana Markovna Bilyarchyk. At this assembly, high school students shared the history of the Olympic movement and presented the event schedule, encouraging everyone to approach “Olympic Week” with energy and a high sense of responsibility.
A sports flash mob and a large Olympic quest across the entire lyceum grounds have already taken place. Competitions, team tournaments, and various athletic activities are also planned to help uncover the sporting talents of every lyceum student.
