One of the synagogues of the united Jewish community of Dnipro, the historic Alter Shul Synagogue, which now houses the Good Future Rehabilitation Center, hosted a series of events related to the Passover holiday.
The Alter Shul synagogue prepared very carefully for the Passover holiday, cleaning the kitchen and all the premises, completely getting rid of the chametz or localizing and isolating its remains. On the eve of the holiday, a b’dikat hametz and a biyur hametz were held under the leadership of the rabbi of the Alter Shul synagogue, Adam Smilyansky. On both the first and second nights of the Passover holiday, Seder services were held here in full compliance with the rules and regulations of Jewish tradition.
A large farbrengen was held in Hol’a Moed Pesach, dedicated to the 18th of Nisan, the birthday of Rabbi Levi Yitzhak Schneerson, the father of the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem-Mendel Schneerson. The righteous Rabbi Levi Yitzhak, who was the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro in 1909-1939, is associated with the Alter Shul synagogue, where he prayed many times, as Rabbi Adam Smilyansky said at the farbrengen, and where numerous farbrengens were held in his honor in the early years of the Jewish revival in Dnipro.
The event was held with the support of the Jewish Community of Dnipro.
