At “Beit Chabad on Poly”, a festive Megillas Esther reading and a rich program took place during the daytime of Purim, allowing guests to fulfill all the primary mitzvos of this joyous day on the Jewish calendar. The atmosphere was filled with happiness, camaraderie, and authentic Purim spirit.
The Megillah reading was led by Rabbi Levi Engelsman of “Beit Chabad on Poly.” Those present listened attentively to every word of the Megillah, and at the mention of Haman’s name, the hall filled with loud noise and groggers, as Purim tradition dictates.
Prior to the reading, a festive photo zone was arranged for guests, offering an opportunity to take vibrant pictures with friends using a variety of cheerful props. After fulfilling the mitzvah of hearing the Megillas Esther reading, the participants also performed the mitzvah of Mishloach Manos, exchanging festive treats with one another. Additionally, all who came were able to fulfill another important Purim mitzvah, “Matanos LaEvyonim,” by giving an especially generous donation to charity to help those in need. The celebration continued with a Purim seudah featuring traditional dishes, allowing guests to continue socializing in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
A separate part of the program was a quiz dedicated to the history of Purim and the content of the Megillas Esther. Participants enthusiastically answered questions, recalled the events of the Purim story, and demonstrated their knowledge of the holiday’s traditions. Winners of the quiz received sweet prizes and gifts.
“We are very happy that we were able to celebrate Purim together and fulfill its mitzvos in such a warm and joyful atmosphere,” noted Rabbi Levi Engelsman. “I want to express sincere gratitude to all our sponsors and friends, foremost among whom, undoubtedly, is our wonderful, unified, and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of the Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
