Representatives of the Jewish Community of Dnipro Completed First Aid Course for Injuries and Bleeding

The ability to provide timely first aid, especially in cases of injuries and bleeding, can save lives in emergency situations. This is well understood in the Jewish Community of Dnipro, which sent its representatives to take the appropriate course.

Representatives of the Jewish Community of Dnipro – Roy Shabatov, Zohar Osadchy, and Rabbi Shmuel Livshitz – participated in the training “First Pre-Medical Aid to Victims. Injuries, Bleeding,” which was held on the initiative of Jewish community member Shmuel Katsev at the MGPI “Beit Chana” facility and conducted by the Respawn School organization.

The course was dedicated to the most relevant practical skills, including such important topics as:

  • Fundamentals of personal safety and principles of providing assistance
  • Action algorithms according to CABCDE and MARCHE protocols
  • Techniques for stopping critical bleeding, including applying tourniquets
  • Procedures for primary and secondary examination of the victim
  • Identifying and providing aid for head, chest, and abdominal injuries
  • Skills in applying bandages and evacuating victims

“These were very useful and important knowledge, and we are sincerely grateful that we were able, thanks to Shmuel Katsev’s initiative, to take this course from Respawn School,” says Rabbi Shmuel Livshitz. “But not only did community representatives receive the most important knowledge and skills, but our synagogue also received a special gift from Shmuel Katsev, as did many other Jewish institutions – a special compact first aid module with ‘Magen David Adom’ symbolism, which has already been placed in the central ‘Golden Rose’ synagogue.”

The modern first aid module donated to the Jewish Community of Dnipro is equipped with everything necessary for rapid response in emergency situations: a professional first aid kit, stretchers, fire extinguisher, signal tapes, and other important equipment.
