The February issue of Shabat Shalom (the 385th issue on the general list) was again published in the traditional twelve-page format.
The front page of the publication is devoted to an article from the DJC website about the visit of Beit Zindlicht kindergarten students to the Beit Baruch Home for the Elderly.
On the second page readers can find a review of video messages of Chief Rabbi of Dnipro Shmuel Kaminetsky to the weekly chapters of the Torah, as well as information about the events dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
On the third page there is a material by Valentin Khoroshun “Holocaust: 80 years because”.
Page four features stories about the opening of the new 8th floor room at the Menorah Center after renovations, a meeting at the JBBBS program, a women’s farbrengen held on Shabbat in anticipation of the 5th of Tevet, and the introduction of two community members to the Abrahamic Covenant.
The fifth page is devoted to a story about a special screening of the feature film “Chomu ya zhiviviy” held at the Menorah Center.
Page Six has a great piece on the movie “Shoah”, as well as a post about the Chanukah lesson in the “Kollel Torah for Women” project.
The seventh page is devoted entirely to a biographical sketch about Israel Akushsky, prepared by Yuri Polissky. On the eighth page there is a story by Alexander Bystryakov “The Jews of Dnipro – Budivelniki”, and on the ninth page there is an article by Nikolai Bulanyi “Jews from books or movies: the history of Joseph Süsskind Oppenheimer”.
On the tenth page there are several notes about the activities of JCC “Solomonika”, as well as the article “Jewish medals and badges of Ukraine”.
On the eleventh page there was published the material of the publication “jewish.ru” under the title “Nasha manina v Nairobi”.
The twelfth page of the publication traditionally includes congratulations, announcements, and humor.
