The final day of the Sheva Brachos period – the seven festive days following the Jewish wedding of Yosef and Avital Leah Nikitenko – took place in a solemn and joyful atmosphere at the Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson Yeshiva Ktana, the leading educational institution for boys of the Dnipro Jewish Community.
According to Jewish tradition, during the week following the wedding, special festive meals are held for the newlyweds, during which they are surrounded with attention, care, and joy. During these days, the groom and bride have a special status, which the Sages compare to the position of a king and queen. These meals are called Sheva Brachos, because they conclude with the recitation of the seven blessings that are also recited under the Chuppah. One of the important conditions for holding Sheva Brachos is the presence of at least one guest who did not participate in the previous festive events.
The concluding celebration was attended by the students and teachers of the yeshiva, who, together with the young family, shared the joy of this important stage in their lives. The program included the traditional recitation of the seven blessings, words of Torah, warm conversation, Chassidic niggunim, and lively dancing, which created a special atmosphere of unity, inspiration, and sincere joy.
“I want to wish the wonderful Nikitenko family, which does so much for the revival of Judaism not only in our community but also in many other cities of Ukraine, that happiness and joy always be in their home, and that all their descendants go from strength to strength — to Torah, Chuppah, and Good Deeds,” noted Rabbi David Vaskovsky. “And, of course, to express sincere gratitude to the Dnipro Jewish Community and its Chief Rabbi, Shmuel Kaminezki. Thanks to his many years of work, devotion to the cause of Jewish revival, and care for every person, we have the opportunity to witness such beautiful events and share this joy together.”
