The great holiday of Rosh Hashanah is approaching – the Day of Judgment, the day when the Almighty determines the fate of the entire world and every individual for the coming year. Rosh Hashanah is called in the Torah the “Day of the Shofar Blast,” and the importance of its observance is particularly emphasized. It is very important to come to the synagogue on this day, pray together with the community, and hear the shofar.
Since this year the first day of Rosh Hashanah falls on Shabbos, on September 12, the 1st of Tishrei, the shofar will not be sounded according to Jewish law.
Shofar blowing on September 13 – 11:40 AM.
Tashlich – 6:20 PM, also on the second day of Rosh Hashanah, September 13, after the afternoon Minchah prayer.
The shofar blowing is the most important mitzvah of the Jewish year; one must listen attentively, hear all the blasts from beginning to end, and these sounds touch the deepest depths of the Jewish soul.
