Special Service of JMC – Professional Medical Transportation and Patient Escort

In today’s world, not every trip a patient makes to a medical facility can be accomplished by ordinary transport. After surgeries, with chronic illnesses, limited mobility, the need for constant monitoring, or the necessity of medical procedures en route, a person needs not just a vehicle but professionally organized medical escort.

The Jewish Medical Center “JMC,” a leading medical institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community, provides a wide range of services covering virtually all areas of modern medicine. However, a special place among them is occupied by the medical transport service, which plays an extremely important role and often becomes a decisive factor in preserving health, and sometimes even life. The professional medical transportation and patient escort service ensures the safe transfer of people with various health conditions, both within the city and region and over long distances.

“This is precisely medical, professional, high-quality escort and transport of patients, not an emergency or ambulance service,” emphasizes the General Director of JMC, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Oleksandr Rodynsky. “Such escort can be at various levels. Some patients simply need safe transport from their place of residence to a medical facility, from one hospital to another, or home after treatment. Others require a solution where specialized medical supervision is needed during transport, and we are ready to provide it at the proper level.”

Patient transport is carried out using specialized vehicles equipped with everything necessary for the safe transfer of patients of varying severity. An important part of the service’s work is not only the route itself but also the organization of the entire patient transfer process. Depending on the person’s condition, the necessary escort team is assembled – from specially trained orderlies to nurses, physicians, and anesthesiologists-resuscitators. JMC pays special attention to the work of driver-orderlies. These are professionals who have undergone special training and know how to work properly with patients under a wide variety of conditions.

“Our vehicles are staffed by drivers who are highly qualified orderlies, have undergone special training, and know how to properly transfer patients even in the most challenging conditions,” continues Professor Oleksandr Rodynsky. “Our services include lifting and lowering the patient from their floor. We know how to work both in modern buildings with freight elevators and in older housing stock where there are no elevators and narrow stairwells. Our staff are trained to skillfully transfer patients of varying levels of complexity, including people with fractures, cardiac conditions, and other conditions requiring special care.”

Sometimes simple transport is needed, and the service of orderlies alone is sufficient; sometimes a nurse’s escort is required. However, the JMC clinic is ready, when necessary, to provide physician escort as well – a general practitioner, emergency physician, or anesthesiologist-resuscitator. During transport, vital signs are monitored, necessary procedures are performed, and the person’s condition is continuously observed. The service’s capabilities allow for the escort of even the most complex patients.

“We can provide transport for patients on mechanical ventilation, on oxygen support,” notes Professor Oleksandr Rodynsky. “All our vehicles are equipped with appropriate systems and allow for such escort. The patient may be conscious or unconscious, including in a state of medically induced sleep. For each situation, the necessary level of medical control and supervision is selected.”

The JMC mobile medical service provides transport within Dnipro, as well as the Dnipropetrovsk region and throughout the entire territory of Ukraine. If necessary, the center’s specialists are ready to organize even more complex routes, including delivering patients to international transport hubs and providing escort when traveling abroad.

“We at the JMC center firmly believe that care for the patient does not end at the clinic door. This is why medical escort and transport are considered by us to be an important part of a comprehensive system of medical care, allowing a person to feel protected at every stage of treatment, diagnosis, rehabilitation, and recovery,” emphasizes Professor Oleksandr Rodynsky. “The development of such important areas of activity is made possible thanks to the constant care and support of the united and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki, for whom helping people, preserving health, and caring for each individual have always been, are, and remain unconditional priorities.”
