“Stars Dnipro”: Shabat Yud Shvat with your own hands – from preparation to participation

The project of the Jewish Community of Dnipro “Stars Dnipro”, supported by STL, offered the participants of the program “Jewish House” an unusual format, in preparation for the 75th anniversary of the key event of Jewish life of our generation – the Day of departure of the Previous Sixth Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzhak, and assumption of the title of Rebbe by Rabbi Menachem-Mendel Schneerson.

“The girls themselves, with their own hands fully participated in the preparation of Shabbat Yud Shvat, – says the head of “Stars Dnepr” Haya Maltseva, – but the preparation is only the first part, because the Weber family opened their home not only for practical study, but also for the Shabbat itself, that is, the girls will be able to experience the full cycle of this most important event – from preparation to participation. This is very important, not only to get theoretical knowledge about kashrut, ethics, communication, but also to fully participate in all this in real time. We are very grateful to the Weber family for welcoming the girls into their family so openly, with such a heart, it is very inspiring and motivating for each student”.

In addition, it became known that the Stars Dnipro program, which has two levels of participation – weekly meetings-lessons, as a basic participation in the project, and intensive, which accepts those who have been in the project for more than a year (this option provides in-depth acquaintance with the theory and practice of Judaism, Hasidism and its philosophy), is now submitting a number of candidates for transfer to this higher and more prestigious level. Program director Haya Maltseva promised to let us know when a number of girls will receive official confirmation of their transfer from the basic to the intensive level. “The program is developing, we see great interest and prospects and we are very happy that young people want to increase in their knowledge, observance of the commandments and approach to the world of Yiddishkeit”, – stressed Haya Maltseva.
