Today marks a special day — the yahrzeit (anniversary of passing) of Rabbi Yisroel Aryeh Leib Schneerson, the younger brother of the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe. His holy resting place is located in the ancient cemetery of Safed (Tzfat), Israel, where many great tzaddikim and spiritual luminaries of the Jewish people are buried — including Rabbi Isaac Luria, Shlomo Alkabetz, Shlomo Cordovero, Yosef Karo, and many others.
On the eve of this significant date, the gravesite of Rabbi Yisroel Aryeh Leib — situated beside the pathway leading to the mikvah, a route used daily by dozens and even hundreds — was cleaned and restored. This noble project became possible thanks to an initiative born in the heart of the Jewish community of Dnipro, and especially through the inspiration and dedicated efforts of Rabbi Reuven Milman, the Rebbe’s emissary who tirelessly spreads the light of Torah and tradition at the central synagogue “Golden Rose” in Dnipro.
“My students — mekuravim Alexander S. and Yisroel Aryeh Leib B., who now live in Israel — fulfilled a truly sacred mission: they cleaned, restored, and improved the site,” says Rabbi Reuven Milman. “People passing by would stop, express sincere gratitude, and give blessings — may these good deeds bring merit to our entire community.”
