This morning, the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region, Shmuel Kaminezki, conducted the official procedure for the sale of chametz belonging to the Jews of Dnipro and Jews from other communities and organizations that entrusted this task to the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region.
Until yesterday, anyone who wished could fill out a power of attorney for the sale of their chametz at the “Golden Rose” Central Synagogue – meaning anything containing leavened products or made from them – that is in their possession or stored on their property. This is done in accordance with the requirements of Jewish religious law, traditions, and customs. According to Jewish tradition, throughout the Pesach holiday, a Jew is forbidden not only to consume chametz or use it in any way, but even to possess it in any form – except in cases where it has been officially sold in strict accordance with Halachah and is considered someone else’s property.
Many Jews approached Rabbi Kaminezki, entrusting him to sell their chametz as prescribed by Jewish tradition. All these written mandates, which are legal documents, were submitted to the office of the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro.
Today, the procedure for selling chametz has been completed. The chametz has been sold – and the Jewish community is ready for Passover!
