Although the holiday of Shavuot has already passed, we are happy to share with our readers how it was celebrated by the participants of the Jewish Student Cultural Center “Hillel” in Dnipro. The youth gathering titled “The Colors of Shavuot” turned into a true celebration of inspiration, creativity, and unity — reminding us all that the giving of the Torah is an event that continues to inspire us to this day.
“A festive youth event was held in Dnipro, organized by the Jewish Student Cultural Center “Hillel,” the Israeli Cultural Center “Nativ,” and Moishe House, in honor of the holiday of Shavuot.
The event brought together around 40 students who came to celebrate, learn more about traditions, dive into a creative atmosphere, and simply enjoy time together with like-minded friends.
The event began with welcoming speeches by the heads of the organizations: Alona Kolpina, Director of the Jewish Student Cultural Center “Hillel”; Arkadiy Ivakhnenko, Coordinator of the Israeli Cultural Center “Nativ”; and Alona Avramenko, resident of Moishe House.
One of the highlights of the program was a painting workshop by Artstudio_dali. The participants created their own affirmation artworks, channeling their emotions, thoughts, and dreams — it became a special form of self-expression and inner dialogue.
Everyone also had the opportunity to learn more about the history and symbolism of Shavuot — a holiday that marks spiritual growth and the receiving of the Torah.
The festive part concluded with a tasting of dairy dishes, cheeses, desserts, and wine — all traditional for Shavuot. The atmosphere was warm, heartfelt, and genuinely celebratory.
We are glad that everyone found something special for themselves: inspiration, conversation, creativity, new friendships, or simply a sense of unity. Thank you to everyone who joined us that day!” shared Alona Kolpina.
