The main event of the fourth evening of Chanukah in Dnipro was the lighting of the candles on the city’s main chanukiah, installed in the world’s largest Jewish center, “Menorah.”
The host of the main Hanukkiah lighting ceremony, Reb Shlomo Tereshkevich, welcomed all present to the holiday and suggested watching a video of the leader of our generation, the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson.
The Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region, Shmuel Kaminezki, warmly greeted everyone who came to the celebration and invited the esteemed member of the Dnipro Jewish Community, who actively supports many Jewish education projects – Chaim (Vitaliy Matviyovych) Zaidner – to light the candles of the fourth evening of Chanukah.
After lighting the chanukiah with the appropriate brachos, Chaim (Vitaliy Matviyovych) Zaidner addressed the Dnipro Jewish community. Emphasizing the importance of this Yom Tov for educating children in the spirit of Jewish tradition and forming in them a correct perception of a holistic world view, he warmly congratulated all those present and wished them a bright and joyful Chanukah.
On the second chanukiah in the Gallery of the center, the holiday candles were lit with the appropriate brachos by an emissary of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Nathan Lazarev.
The festive mood for all present was created by the performance of an unusual duo – a virtuoso of electronic music and an excellent clarinetist, who performed Jewish melodies in an ultra-modern sound. For the children, many special activities were prepared – face painting, various board games, workshops, and much more. Everyone who came to the celebration was able to enjoy Chanukah treats and participate in a lottery with valuable prizes.
