The JBBBS (Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters) project of the Dnipro Jewish Community is a support, mentorship, and friendship program that helps children experience warmth, care, and inspiration through shared events, creativity, and exploring the world.
Art has the power to unite, inspire, and heal. The participants of JBBBS experienced this firsthand when they visited the Dnipro Academic Opera and Ballet Theater as one big, friendly family to watch the wonderful production of the ballet “Snow White.” The experience exceeded all expectations: vibrant decorations, play of light, melodious music, luxurious costumes, and enchanting choreography created a true fairy-tale atmosphere that captivated both children and adults.
After the performance, the hall echoed with applause for a long time, and emotions overwhelmed everyone—children, parents, and volunteers sincerely shared their impressions, laughter, and inspiration.
“Such cultural events are extremely important,” emphasizes Tetyana Kaplunska, the head of the JBBBS project. “They develop aesthetic taste, broaden horizons, and bring joy and a sense of unity. We believe that beauty and art help find inner peace and harmony even in difficult times.
As one of the parents noted, even during periods of moral trials, it is necessary to leave room for the beautiful—as it is this that gives strength to move forward and see the light.
Heartfelt gratitude to the Jewish communities of Dnipro and Greater Boston, as well as to the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro, Shmuel Kaminezki, for their constant support and contribution to the development of the program.
‘We are creating a space of warmth, development, and joy for the children of our city,’ adds Tetyana Kaplunska. ‘And we are always open to new friends, mentors, and volunteers.’
We invite all interested to join the friendly JBBBS family this coming Sunday! Details and registration by phone: 068-480-30-52 (Natalia).”
