In the program for Jewish teens “Teens”, implemented by the Jewish Community of Dnipro with the support of STL and “Enerjew” (a project of JRNU Foundation), the month of Shvat was very intense and every Sunday class was dedicated to the main holidays of this month – Yud Shvat, Tu Bi Shvat and 22 Shvat.
From the very beginning of the month in the program Jewish teenagers of Dnipro began preparations for such an important date as the Jubilee Yud Shvat – the 75th anniversary of the key event of Jewish life of our generation – the Day of departure of the Previous Sixth Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef-Yitzhak, and the assumption of the title of Rebbe by Rabbi Menachem-Mendel Schneerson.
“We talked to the kids, in honor of what we celebrate this day, learned interesting facts about the life of the 6th and 7th Lubavitcher Rebbe, so to speak got to know each other better and figured out how to properly spend the 10th of Shvat, – told our website the head and host of the program Beulah Letichevskaya, – after that we and the kids wrote PaN, for many kids it was the first time and now these letters will be sent on Ohel to the Rebbe.”
Immediately after Yud Shvat Day, program participants began preparations for the next date of this month, the Tu Bi Shvat holiday. “On Sunday, 09/02, we began preparations for the next upcoming holiday, namely Tu Bi Shvat. We didn’t just remember what the New Year of Trees is, but considered it from the ecological side and the guys acted as journalists, – said Beyla Letichevskaya, – everyone took maximum responsibility to their tasks and prepared 3 presentations of their topics, which they told to the rest of the participants. And after that, the participants started the master class – this time we made fruit bouquets. The children showed maximum creativity and each teenager made a unique and beautiful bouquet”.
Next Sunday, the Teens program, implemented by the Jewish Community of Dnipro with the support of STL and Enerjew (a project of the JRNU Foundation), will be dedicated to another important date of the month of Shvat – Shvat 22, the anniversary of the yortzeit of the righteous Rebbe Hai-Mushka Schneerson, daughter of the Sixth and wife of the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe.
Project organizer Beyla Letichevsky invites Jewish teens who are not yet enjoying the program to apply to join: “If you want to join us, you can contact our project in messengers: +38 098 528 55 55 33”.
