The 20th of Av marks the 81st anniversary of the passing of the soul of the great sage and righteous man, the father of the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson, who served as Chief Rabbi of Yekaterinoslav-Dnepropetrovsk from 1909 to 1939.
In his video message from 18 Nissan 5784, delivered in Russian, his great son, the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson, shares memories of his father’s relentless struggle to spread the light of Torah in the most difficult of times.
We offer this fragment to your attention in order to once again recall the feat and courage of the great rabbi, who did not retreat in the face of trials and continued to carry the light of the Torah in the face of severe persecution.
