The third and final session of the traditional and unique “Gan Israel Levi Yitzchak” children’s summer camp has concluded at the picturesque Kohavi Forest Club complex. Organized by the Jewish Community of Dnipro with the support of Jewish Relief Network Ukraine, the camp provides a full-fledged vacation experience for children who may be accompanied by their parents. Following a break due to the period from the 1st through the 9th of Av, the camp program resumed, giving the children the opportunity to spend their July summer days in an atmosphere of joy, friendship, active socializing, and authentic Yiddishkeit.
As in previous sessions, the main focus was on a rich children’s program, carefully developed by activists and staff of the community’s youth projects. It harmoniously combined active recreation, creativity, games, and spiritual growth, helping each child not only to enjoy their time but also to strengthen their Jewish identity.
During this final third session, as in the previous two, the program was built around a unique six-color concept. Each day had its own color, motto, and spiritual theme, with participants receiving colored bracelets as symbols of the stage they had completed. All the activities, workshops, games, and creative projects helped the children—who were divided into boys’ and girls’ teams—to internalize important life values through meaningful experiences. Each day began with tefillah, continued with creative activities, sports games, and various workshops, and ended with the traditional “Rebbe Time,” where the children learned stories about the Lubavitcher Rebbe and shared impressions of the day.
Particular highlights of the final session included soccer matches that united children and adults, SUP and kayak trips, fun water gun games, creative activities, evening farbrengens, warm camaraderie, and the opportunity for families to enjoy the beautiful nature, the cozy camp atmosphere, delicious kosher cuisine, and Shabbos meals together.
