Thousands of Jews in Dnipro Heard the Ten Commandments and Took Part in Festive Meals

The central “Golden Rose” Synagogue, festively decorated, traditionally became the heart of the grand Shavuot celebration in Dnipro. To enable the maximum number of Dnipro’s Jews to hear the Ten Commandments, their reading was organized several times. The packed hall listened with bated breath, once again accepting upon themselves the precepts of the Holy Torah. Additionally, festive Shavuot events were organized at various locations – the world’s largest Jewish center, “Menorah,” and the Beit Chabads of Dnipro. Over five hundred people participated in the main meal at the Menorah Center alone, and a vibrant, unforgettable program was held for two hundred and fifty children.

The “Golden Rose” Synagogue was specially prepared for the Shavuot holiday – flowers and a display of the Ten Commandments adorned the main sanctuary. In honor of the holiday, the Aron Kodesh was decorated with floral arrangements and garlands, symbolizing the joy of the Giving of the Torah and recalling the offerings brought on this holiday in the Jerusalem Temple, as well as the miracles that occurred at Mount Sinai, where the Almighty brought the Jews fifty days after the Exodus from Egyptian slavery, and where the main event in human history took place – the Sinai Revelation.

Naturally, our website, adhering to Jewish traditions, could not take photographs on the Shavuot holiday itself, and the photos were taken one hour before the candle-lighting time for Yom Tov.
