Today Jews Around the World Commemorate the Rebbe’s Day

Today, the 3rd of Tamuz, Jews around the world observe “The Rebbe’s Day” – the 32nd anniversary of the day when the soul of the great tzaddik, the Leader of our generation, the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson, departed from the material world.

On this day, special events – lessons, classes, farbrengens, and gatherings – are held in Chabad communities around the world. It is also customary on this day to write a “pidyon nefesh” letter to the Rebbe requesting a blessing, which will then be placed at his Ohel.
