Jewish preschool “Beit Zindlicht” held a celebration of Tu Bi Shvat – the New Year of Trees in all age groups – from the youngest to those who plan to enter the Jewish lyceum in September.
“In each group, the children, after the story of Tu Bi Shvat, planted seeds in the ground and then watered them and in the future, as part of their study of nature, will observe their development,” Malka Averbukh, a kindergarten teacher, told our website, “then the children recited and listened to the twelve psukim and, of course, there were many dances, games and fun contests and all on plant themes, because the Torah compares man to a field tree, and all our pupils want to bear very good fruits to glorify their families, community, country and, of course, our kindergarten, where they learned the basics of Jewish tradition and Yiddishkeit”.
At the end of the meal for the children was prepared with those fruits for which the land of Israel is famous or products from them, and which, according to the customs of Chabad, in Tu Bi Shvat it is necessary to taste, saying before it the blessing “Shehecheyanu”, which all pupils of “Beit Zindlicht” performed with great diligence.
