A joyous event took place in the Jewish Community of Dnipro—the upshernish ceremony (the first haircut of a boy who has reached the age of three) was held for Levi Yitzchak, son of Avraham Nikolsky and his wife Sara.
According to Jewish tradition, at the age of three a boy receives his first haircut, which marks the beginning of a new stage in his life—his introduction to systematic Jewish education and Torah study.
The honor of beginning the ceremony was given to Levi Yitzchak’s relatives, after which esteemed guests of the celebration were invited to participate in this special mitzvah. Friends, family, and many respected members of the Jewish Community of Dnipro came to share in the family’s joy. In honor of this significant occasion, a seudas mitzvah was organized for the guests.
The Jewish Community of Dnipro and our website join in all the blessings extended to the young Levi Yitzchak and his family on this day, and wish him, as is customary in Jewish tradition, to come to Torah, Chuppah, and good deeds!
Mazl Tov!
