A rich and touching day, fully dedicated to the date of Yud Shvat – a day of special significance in the Chassidic tradition – was held at the “Beit Zindlicht” Children’s Educational Center, the leading preschool institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community. The entire day’s program was structured so that even the youngest students could connect with the meaning of this date through forms of learning, emotions, and shared joy that are accessible to them.
Throughout the day, thematic sessions were held in each age group, where the students, in an understandable and engaging manner, learned about the history of Yud Shvat, discussed the importance of good deeds, the light of the soul, and the connection between generations. Through stories, visual materials, and creative tasks, the children learned to perceive spiritual ideas through images familiar to them, shared their thoughts and impressions, creating a special atmosphere of warmth and involvement.
The culmination of this special day was a joint farbrengen that united all groups of the kindergarten. The children sang niggunim together, watched specially selected videos related to the day’s theme, and participated in the shared program with great inspiration. The farbrengen was led by educator Osnat Lieberman, who succeeded in creating an atmosphere of joy, unity, and spiritual uplift for the children. A particular joy for the little ones was the treats they received at the end of the celebration, making the day even brighter and more memorable.
“It is very important that from the earliest age, children feel the warmth of Jewish tradition and the joy of shared spiritual events,” noted kindergarten teacher Naomi Chaya Yavorskaya. “Such days help lay a strong connection to the community and our values in a child’s soul, and we are happy to do this within the united and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of its Chief Rabbi, Shmuel Kaminezki.”
