Visit of the Ambassador of Denmark to the Dnipro Jewish Community

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine, Thomas Lund-Sørensen, visited the world’s largest Jewish center, “Menorah,” as part of his official visit to Dnipro. During his visit, he met with the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region, Shmuel Kaminezki, and the Director of the Dnipro Jewish Community, Zeilig Brez. During his time at the center, the distinguished guest learned about the activities of one of the largest Jewish communities in Europe, which plays a significant role in the spiritual, educational, social, and cultural life of the city, region, and country.

During the visit, Mr. Ambassador was informed about the multifaceted work of the Dnipro Jewish Community, including projects in the areas of Jewish revival, preservation of traditions, family support, development of youth initiatives, educational programs, and charitable activities. Special attention was given to how the community continues its active work and implementation of numerous initiatives even during this difficult time for Ukraine. Thomas Lund-Sørensen also visited the “JMC” Jewish Medical Center, where he learned about the activities of this important institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community.

The visit to the Menorah Center was an important part of Mr. Thomas Lund-Sørensen’s introduction to modern Dnipro, its civic life, and the unique experience of integrating diverse social, religious, and national communities into a single, modern Ukrainian society. The Dnipro Jewish Community expressed its gratitude for the attention to its activities and the interest in its large-scale projects aimed at strengthening intercultural dialogue and humanitarian cooperation towards a flourishing future.
